Another successful year has completed at the Salomon Jib Academy Finals held at Mammoth Mountain last week.  A tremendously talented group of 19 kids played hard and big with the Salomon team.

The conditions at Mammoth were pretty much perfect. As Salomon team member and two-time X Games Gold Medalist in Slopestyle and Big Air Bobby Brown put it, “This is the best I’ve ever seen it.” Along with Bobby joining the Academy crew  in the epic mountain conditions were James “Woodsy” Woods, Henrik Harlaut, Dane Tudor, Sammy Carlson, Tommy Ellingson, Willie Borm, Chris Rubens, Keri Herman, Kaya Turski. There was also a slue of special surprise guests who included Kristi Leskinen, Russ Henshaw, Phil Casabon and Devin Logan.

Salomon masters Cody Townsend and Mike Douglas were making the rounds and staying busy on and off the mountain. Besides doing a live streaming webcast with newschoolers.com where Cody was asked burning questions such as, “What would be a good name for a Skiing Production Company,” and “What is his favorite mountain (he said Squaw by the way),” Mike gave out words of wisdom regarding how he invented the D-Spin and shot some amazing footage for Salomon Freeski TV with Jeff Thomas of Switchback Entertainment. Mike said that the shoot was, ”a dream realized and probably the coolest shoot I’ve ever been a part of.” Stay tuned for all their footage on Salomon Freeski TV for next year’s episodes.

The top spot and a winning a trip to Salomon’s annual Team Camp in Breckenridge, Colorado during the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour was, Kai Mahler. The Salomon team was won over by Kai’s style and incredible efforts.  However three ladies in particular, Emma Hogland, Tril Sjastad Christensen and Jackie Kling were truly stars this year and ended up with some Salomon hardgoods.

Congrats to another great Jib Academy Salomon, and props to all the Academy participates!
