A 33-year-old climber died after skiing into a crevasse Tuesday on Mount Rainier, according to a news release from Mount Rainier National Park.

Park Spokeswoman Patti Wold estimated that the skier fell more than 100 feet.  Wold said that a group of training guides crossed paths with members of the skier’s party, and one guide rappelled into the crevasse where they found the man dead.  The accident occurred at the 13,000-foot level in the area of the Nisqually glacier.
