It’s not over until the fat lady sings…or until ski resorts around the country start closing for skiing and riding for the summer. There are many resorts that have already closed for the 2010/2011 season, but tons are still open!

Here’s ten that are available for your Spring Skiing needs. Many on this list are closing after this Memorial Day Weekend, however places like Aspen Mountain may extend weekend skiing and riding fun past this weekend, depending on conditions. It’s looking hopeful for them since as of their close on April 10, Aspen has received more than 70 inches of snow.

Time to pack your cars and get out there before the getting is gone for the 2010/2011 season. Do it! Do it! That’s more of me cheering and less of me demanding.

  1. Mammoth Mountain  - Open until July 4th! Can you sing the Star Spangled Banner while skiing backwards? I sure can! They have tons of events happening until their July 4th close, like their MEGA Memorial Day Weekend Party.
  2. Arapahoe Basin – They have extended their season through the middle of June.
  3. Crystal Mountain – They are open through June which is the longest ski season in the state of Washington. Congrats! The photo above, courtesy of Crystal Mountain, show some happy mountain visitors relaxing and enjoying their Spring Ski conditions. Currently 4 lifts are running.
  4. Whistler/Blackcomb – Blackcomb is open until Monday, May 30. Do some skiing and riding and then get over to the Whistler Mountain Bike Park which just opened for the 2011 season.
  5. Snowbird – Open through Monday, May 30. Yes, all Memorial Day Weekend long! Hours are 8AM-2PM conditions permitting, and it’s looking good with a steady total of 4 inches of additional snow in the past 48 and 24 hours, respectively.
  6. Squaw Valley USA – Open through Monday, May 30. As of now, this is their final weekend so get in your car and drive up there!
  7. Alyeska Resort - Open through Monday, May 30. Hours are 11AM-5PM with Tram and Chair 6 running.
  8. Mt. Bachelor – Open through Sunday, May 29. They have received 6 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours! Hmmm…maybe they will extend their season as well? Come on Mother Nature and snow, snow, snow!
  9. Aspen (Aspen Mountain) – Reopening for this Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-30) and possible further extended weekends.
  10. Kirkwood – Reopening for Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-30). Chairs 10 & 11 will be open and running.
