Sunday River Opens Mountain Activities June 24

Newry, Maine — Sunday River invites summer enthusiasts to skip the crowds found at the usual summer hot spots and head to their mountains. A world class ski and snowboard resort in the winter, Sunday River has shed its snow and remains to keep it cool by transforming into an alpine playground set to open its mountain activities and events for the summer starting on Friday, June 24, 2011.

Located in the Western Mountains of Maine, Sunday River makes for an easy day trip, weekend adventure, or extended vacation, especially in the summer. Family friendly mountain activities available include: scenic Chondola rides,hiking, mountain biking, zipline tours and twin zips and Geocache Adventures. All mountain activities are open from 10am – 4pm Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting June 24, 2011 through Columbus Day Weekend.

If you have the need for some golf, the season is already in full swing at the award winning Sunday River Golf Club. Greens fees are $95 and can be booked up to a week in advance by calling (207) 824-4653.
