Madison, Wis. With only two more days until National Trails Day happening on Saturday, June 4, it’s time to plan your hike to at either the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT).

From start to finish, the NCT is our Nation’s longest scenic trail covering 4,600 miles and running through New York (picture to the left from NCT’s website), Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. However, don’t let that monster list of states overwhelm you. Very few people have the stamina and/or time to hike the NCT in its entirety but you’ll be rewarded with abundant views and wildlife for any part of it.

Only a day’s drive for about 40% of American’s population, most can get to the trail in a couple of hours. It passes through 12 National Forests and is kept beautiful by the National Park Services.

Choose your own adventure and get a map right now on the North Country Trail website. It’s time to get out in nature and look for bald eagles and deer!
