Jamie Anderson sticks with Billabong

IRVINE, CA - Jamie Anderson, arguably the most dominant women’s snowboarder in the world today, inked another long-term agreement with Billabong. Anderson had stellar year this 2010-2011 season winning nearly every slopestyle event, nabbing her second TTR World Title, being named the overall Winter Dew Tour Champion and bringing home a gold medal from the European X Games.

“It feels amazing to sign with Billabong for another 3 years, and I’m so proud to work with such a great company,” said Anderson. “I’m excited about expanding the Jamie Anderson Collection and couldn’t be happier about the relationship.”

A South Lake Tahoe native, Anderson started snowboarding when she was 9 years old and quickly became a part of the Sierra Tahoe Team and making waves at the Winter X Games when she was 15 years old. She is still the youngest medalist for the Winter X Games and Billabong snatch her up five years ago then.

Now, at 20 years old, Anderson has decided to stick with Billabong signing a 3 year contract. Candy Harris, Billabong Brand Director, says, “We are thrilled to be continuing our support of Jamie, she has become a true icon for the sport and we know the future holds no limit to her accomplishments.”

Harris also expressed excitement for Anderson’s signature outwear brand for the upcoming 2011-2012 winter season saying, “The expansion of her signature collection to a broader street wear market will be a great opportunity to see her influence shine both on and off the mountain.”  The collection is set to hit stores on September 1, 2011.
