Rejoice: The first 2011 snow at Valle Nevado, Chile

Mother Nature continues to work hard, turning her head from California for the moment to the Chilean Andes, specifically to Valle Nevado Ski Resort in Chile. The picture above is from their first snow on June 7, 2011, courtesy of the ski resort.

Snowstorms this past weekend gave the resort their first snow of the season, measuring in at about 15 cm. However, Mother Nature has not stopped yet. More storms are expected today. So it’s time for the rejoicing to begin and your impending travel bookings to Chile.

Valle Nevado’s opening day will be June 17, with all hotels and services in full operation.
