Snowboarding Prodigy Mikey Ciccarelli has spot in Youth Olympics

The 14 year old Canadian snowboarding prodigy, Mikey Ciccarelli, has been the selected to represent  Canada in the Youth Olympics happening in Innsbruck, Austria in January 2012. Ciccarelli will be the sole representative from Canada competing in the Games in the half-pipe.

News came way via email to him this past Friday, June 10, 2011 and he could not be more excited.  The Ancaster, Ontario teen has a passion to be part of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, and this seems like a good way to make that happen.

He will first go to Innsbruck to train for a few weeks in December working on his FS 900 along with some other tricks to show off, and hopefully bring home the Gold in January. Check out the video below of Mikey in action, including him landing his first FS 900 attempt.

Mikey is currently rocking a GNU 135cm Danny Kass Mini board, Union Force bindings, Vans Encore boots and most importantly a Pro Tect Riot Helmet.

I have a feeling we’ll all be seeing lots more from him. Congrats from The Ski Channel!
