SMS sophomore to participate in 2012 Youth Olympics

Stratton Mountain, Vt. – Stratton Mountain School sophomore, Ottowa, Canada has been invited to compete in the first Youth Olympic Games, which will take place in Innsbruck, Austria January 13 – 22, 2012.

Korte-King will represent Canada in snowboarding. She will join her SMS classmates Heather Mooney and Patrick Caldwell, who will represent the U.S. in Cross Country skiing, and Piera Hudson, who will represent New Zealand in alpine skiing. Each country can select one male and one female competitor in each discipline.

Korte-King won the Canada Winter Games Halfpipe competition Feb. 24 and placed 13th in the World Cup Halfpipe competition Feb. 18.

Stratton Mountain School is a ski and snowboard academy located at the base of Stratton Mountain that serves students in grades 8 – 12.
