Lack of snow pushes Valle Nevado Season Opening to July 1

Valle Nevado in Chile has officially moved their 2011 Season Opening to July 1, 2011 due to lack of snow. Previously reported yesterday here at The Ski Channel, Valle Nevado was planning on moving forward for their previous scheduled opening this week on June 24, but after another look, there’s just not enough snow yet.

Although the resort has received a substantial amount over this past weekend, there is not enough to get the resort fully functional guests, reports Kristina Schreck from Valle Nevado North America.

Mother Nature, hear our cries and demands of turning your head towards the Southern Hemisphere for snow. I know you must be busy for Summer Solstice today, but I know Chile and other countries like New Zealand will be very appreciative.
