Riders worldwide grab your boards and step up your game, with a cut off date of January 16th, 2012, there is still time to qualify for one of the 240 available slots of the TTR 6Star World Snowboarding Championships. The 10th season of the TTR World Snowboard Tour is set to start in Whistler, BC on July 1st, with the 5Star Billabong Ante Up before jetting down to the Southern Hemisphere with stops in Zealand and Australia.
2011-2012 presents a new ranking system for TTR in which there will be four separate global ranking sections: TTR Slopestyle World Tour Ranking, TTR Halfpipe World Tour Ranking, TTR Overall World Tour Ranking and TTR Big Air World Tour Ranking.
Spectators can expect to see massive big airs from pros such as Mark McMorris, Sebastien Toutant and Seppe Smits, who are all expected to compete in Whistler for the launch of the tour. If halfpipe and slopestyle are more your calling, then New Zealand is where it’s at for the 5tar Burton New Zealand Open on August 9th to 13th at Cardona Alpine Resort.
The Southern Hemisphere summer calendar will be full of action with events such as the 3Star Dew Hut in July, and the 4Star Billabong Bro Down in August among others. TTR will wrap up its world tour February 10-19, in Oslo, Norway, for the 6Star World Snowboarding Championships (WSC).
