What will $10 million buy you in Aspen, CO?
Five bedrooms, six full baths, two partial baths, a gym, a movie theater, a wine room, Japanese-style gardens, and a hot tub. Oh, and views of mountains on all sides. It even has caretaker’s quarters, because you’ll clearly be too busy running around and yelling, “I live in a piece of modern art!!!!” to vacuum. This house has a history of feature articles in luxury real estate media, including The New 100 Houses book.
The interiors (right) were designed by Larry Laslo, who created a mecca of clean lines and cool style for this modern home. The master bedroom and children’s/guest wing are separated by the dining room and living space, creating a nice buffer zone after a hard day of snow fun.
This place comes with custom-designed furniture (what, you were going to go to IKEA?) and a rather bizarre outdoor sculpture resembling an empty picture frame, except five feet tall and bronze (see below). Presumably, as you lounge by the outdoor firepit, you’ll want the illusion that you are looking at a framed picture of the Aspen mountains, instead of the real thing. Who knows. For $10 million, you could probably buy the mountain.
