Avalanches are serious business when it comes to safety on the mountain and more than just Ski Patrollers should know what to do in a situation, especially if you are a backcountry skier or boarder.
The Ski Channel presents, The Fine Line, a film produced by the Canadian Avalanche Association by The Rocky Mountain Sherpas. This film gives an inside look of what it takes to get those breathtaking shots on the mountain and going through safety steps to provide successful injury free day on the slopes. It jumps through a timeline of history that explains how extreme sports were evolved.
The Fine Line has won bunches and bunches of awards including: ”Best FILM” (Livino Mtn Film Festival 2009, Cold Smoke Awards 2009, and Fernie Mtn Film Festival 2009), ”Best Director” (X-Dance 2009), “Best Concept” (Powder Awards 2009), “Best Cinematography” (Cold Smoke Awards) and it was the “Official World Tour Selection” at the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Besides awards, it is an excellent educational piece and is used around the world at seminars.
