Raised in Southwest Virginia, Heath Calhoun, is a retired sergeant from the 101st Airborne Ranger. He is from a solider family and wanted to continue the tradition and see the world so he joined the army and served in Iraq. After both of his legs were lost from a rocket blast, Calhoun has found himself again on the slopes, and this is his story.
The Ski Channel presents, The Fall Line, a story about how Calhoun found new happiness and adventure being a new mono-ski for disabled skiers. Love for skiing and the mountains has given him a new sense of freedom and has made him one of the fastest adaptive ski racers.
This short film was directed by photographer Tyler Stableford who told newwest.net that, “It’s a real joy for me to be able to share Heath’s story. ” Check out Stableford’s complete interview here at: www.newwest.net.
