McLean, VA – While mountain resorts and retail shops across the country have transitioned into summer offerings, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) is thinking SNOW and looking ahead to next year’s Snow Show in Denver. Last week, the Show officially reached “sold out” status for exhibitor booth space, although a waiting list will be maintained in the months leading up to the Show.
The Present of SIA, Dave Ingemie, told The Ski Channel this morning, “It’s terrific that we are sold out so early and that the industry has been able to take advantage of the great snow this past season and the increase in sales at retail.”
The 2012 SIA Snow Show is scheduled for January 26-29 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver and expects to draw over 19,000 attendees including suppliers, retailers, reps, athletes and professionals from the snow sports industry. The now sold out Snow Show will feature over 900 snow sports brands including 25 new exhibitors, which are brand new to the Show or returning after taking a hiatus. The Colorado Convention Center offers the Snow Snow with 330,000 square feet of exhibit space.
SIA’s Trade Show Committee President and Quiksilver’s VP of Sales Dave Rosenberger also is very excited about selling out already. “Having the SIA Snow Show sell out in June is fantastic news and solidifies the importance of the Show for every company in our industry — even when many of us are focusing on warmer weather activities, winter is always in the back of our minds.”
The annual SIA Snow Show consistently draws the attention of journalists from across the globe to cover the latest in snow sports trends. At last year’s Show over 950 television, radio, magazine, newspapers and online journalists could be found roaming the aisles resulting in 70 television placements, 5,590 blog hits and 949 online/print pieces reaching over 290 million consumers.
No other trade show brings the snow sports community together like the SIA Snow Show. Everyone is able to really get down to business and have fun. It’s been happening for more than 50 years and showcases brands from every snow sports category including: ski, snowoard, cross country, telemark, AT backcountry and snowshoe.
For anyone connected to the business of snow sports, the Snow Show is the place to be from January 26-29, 2012. However, since it’s sold out, if you are late to the party bus, seems like you need to wait until 2013. In the meantime, you need to check out the SIA’s On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest from January 30-31 at Winter Park Resort and Devil’s Thumb Ranch. It’s a two-day Ski-Ride Fest where snow sports retailers and media can test gear and accessories previewed at the Show. The On-Snow Demo is hosted in-conjunction with the Western Winter Sports Reps Association’s (WWSRA) Rocky Mountain Demo and in partnership with Cross Country Ski Areas Association (CCSAA).
