Looking for something to do this AugustMaine has two really cool events going on!

August 4-6 the Maine State HOG Rally will be taking place for its 16th time in Sunday River.  This country western-themed HOG Rally includes live music by Don Cambell, lots of good food and drinks, a “who dunnit” mystery dinner and of course lots of riding.  There will also be real horse riding as well as planned routes for those who want to ride their motorcycles.  After all it is a HOG Rally.

Everything is western themed and sure to be a good time.  Although pre sale is already over you can still join in the HOG Rally.  Simply visit their website for more information on how you can join in the fun.  Don’t forget to “Save a Horse, Ride a HOG!”

August 14 the 20th annual Maine State Triathlon & Aquabike and kids triathlon will be held in Bethel. There are individual age categories, team categories (male, female, mixed), novice, Athena, and Clydesdale categories.  It is a very “do-able” race as it only includes a 1k swim, 24 k bike, and 5.8 k run.

Race starts at 9 a.m. and you can register online here until Friday, August 12, 2011 at 12noon.  Be sure to check out their website for more information. Also click here to see the course map.

These events in Maine this summer are sure to be a good time.  Don’t know where to stay? Sunday River Resort has two hotels as well as many condominiums to choose from.
