Limited Opening after snow arrives at Treble Cone

I guess Mother Nature FINALLY heard our cries. Good news for Treble Cone in New Zealand since they received a first dusting over Wednesday and then following up with snow showers on Thursday. Man, the chairlift in the above picture looks happy!

After welcoming some more snow in the past 36 hours and building a decent base, Treble Cone has announced a Limited Opening of the platter lift and beginners area for Sunday, July 10. This snowfall fell on to bare ground without a base and as such Treble Cone requires either 48 hours snowmaking or another substantial snowfall to open the home basin.

The Learners lift is free of charge and the Scenic chair rides will be running from 12PM-1PM with visitors able to enjoy views over Lake Wanaka. As a reminder, the new Wanaka office on Dungarvon Street overlooking Pembroke Park will switch to 3PM-6PM winter hours daily.
