LUDLOW, Vt.– On the 22nd of July, 2011, the Jackson Gore Outdoor Music Series at the Okemo Mountain Resort will be proud to present 2Adam12, the band of local “Soul Rock” king Adam Payne in a FREE concert. This marks the beginning of the 2011 Outdoor Music Series.
Adam’s musical style, past and present, can only be described as eclectic. As a youngster, he learned to plonk out tunes on the piano by mimicking cartoon music and video game soundtracks. Adam moved on to play the guitar and drums in high school. His current neo-soul jam-band sound blends acoustic, R&B, folk, and funk sounds.
Following 2Adam21, the summer lineup is as follows: Joey Leone Band, July 29; Sly Geralds, August 5; Love in Stockholm, August 12; Banjo Dan and the Midnight Plowboys, August 19; Kenny Mehler Band, August 26; LipBone Redding and the LipBone Orchestra, September 2.
The series of concerts will take place on the lawn of Okemo’s Jackson Gore Inn. The venue opens at 5pm, and admission is free, with the performances expected to run from 6-9pm. Attendees are invited to bring chairs and picnic blankets. Dining options include fresh-from-the-grill fare or table-service dining at the Coleman Brook Tavern. Families are welcome. In the event of bad weather, the concert will move indoors.
In addition to the Outdoor Music Series concerts, Okemo is hosting two special events: the Hops in the Hills Brew Festival, with musical guests the Sly Geralds, on August 6, and the annual Parrothead Party with Jimmy Buffett tribute band Changes in Latitudes on October 8.
Summer activities at Okemo include mountain coaster rides, trampoline bungee jumping, and disc golf. Miniature gold is set to open later in the summer.
