Hampton, NY – July 14 – SASS Global Travel is pleased to announce the winner of their “Why I Love My Mountain,” Facebook Contest. Contestants were asked to write a 500 word maximum essay about why they love riding their home mountain. Many entries were submitted by tons of talented and worthy writers, but one stood out from the rest.

Oliver Kane, a park skier from the UK, wrote about why he loves his indoor ski area. Kane garnered over 300 votes, taking first place and winning a new Contour GPS hands-free camera, a Dakine Baker pack and Fillmore mittens, RED helmet and Anon goggles. To read his entry on his indoor home ski hill in the UK right here via SASS Global Travel. The runner-up was Trevor McDonald with 279 votes who wrote about his home mountain of Bromley, VT, and the third place winner was Skylar Clark scoring 234 votes writing about Stratton Mountain, VT. McDonald won a Dakine Baker backpack and RED helmet, and Clark got himself a RED helmet.

SASS Global is very pleased with how the contest panned out. “We’re stocked with how well the contest went – we got hundreds of entries from around the world, and a ton of people who were passionate about where they get to ski and snowboard, be it Tahoe, the East Coast, or even a dry slope in England,” said SGT’s Director of Communications, Ryan Dunfee.

Congratulations to the winners and all who participated! Keep getting out that mountain spirit, contest or no contest!
