BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) – Authorities are intensifying their search for a 24-year-old man who failed to return from a backcountry ski trip in the Lone Mountain area near Big Sky in March.

Gallatin County Sheriff Jim Cashell says, “we will not give up in order to bring closure to the family.”

More than 40 volunteers and 10 canine teams searched the area last weekend for Bradley Gardner of Big Sky. He was last seen March 9 going downhill skiing and was reported overdue from the trip March 13.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports crews from Gallatin and Madison counties, as well as from Wyoming, Idaho and Utah, are participating.

Early spring storms made conditions hazardous and forced officials to suspend the search at the end of March. Since then, limited air and ground searches have been conducted.
