The Ski Channel’s THE STORY, directed by our own Steve Bellamy, took home the Best Film and Best Director awards at this year’s Las Vegas International Film Festival (LVFF) this past weekend. THE STORY kicked off the LVFF opening night taking place at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino.

Recently in June, THE STORY won the presigious Warren Miller Media Award at the Far West Ski Conference. The awards just keeping coming in for a movie that is more than just a collection of stories of our friends and master mountain athletes. It’s a journey of accomplishments and excitement from super well-knowns like Bode Miller and Lindsey Vonn, to amazingly surprising unknowns like the Robert Athey, aka “The Wizard of Wasatch.”

Through all forms of mountain sports like skiing, snowboarding, speed flying, paragliding, river surfing and kite skiing, THE STORY takes viewers into deep character dives with the most famous skiers to the most obscure ski bums as well as to the top of Mount Everest, never before skied steeps in Alaska and various gut-wrenching variations on human flight.
