Burton Snowboards is well known as one of the top brands for snow wear and gear. 1977 was the year that Jake Burton founded his snowboarding company “Burton”. As a young snowboarder himself, he was exceptionally determined to take the sport to the next level, and so he did, revolutionizing the way snowboarding was looked upon.

With the success of altering the sport of snowboarding, Jake was aware that it could not have been accomplished on his own. It took the help of many shop staff, Burton staff, and Burton dealers to move the company and sport in a positive direction. After 18 years of the company succeeding, Jake Burton decided to reward as many of the people helping his company as possible.

1995 was the first year that Jake decided to create a celebration called the Burton Slush event that was held at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming. This event was created to celebrate all the hard work that the Burton employees had put in to the company.

After sixteen hard-working years, Jake decided that it was time for another Burton Slush event. In April of 2011, Jake organized the second Slush event held again at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, inviting over 200 Burton reps and staff. The guests were lucky enough to ride powder with Burtons own Danny Davis, Jack Mitrani, Hannah Teter and Jussi Oksanen.
