Mount Ashland offers a free summer camp every year, where kids help clean up the ski area, and in turn are awarded community service as well as discounted lift tickets.
The camp which is now onto its 18th year, offers three weeklong sessions, running through August 4th. It reportedly reached maximum capacity this year with no spots left unfilled.
The kids involved range from ages 12 to 14, and complete manual labor, in turn receiving 20 hours of community service, as well as the choice between discounted ski passes, ski lessons, or three free lift tickets.
