Black Mountain of Maine and the Chisholm Ski Club have collaborated to launch an Adopt a Tree program in honor of the 50th anniversary of Black Mountain in Maine. They plan is to beautify the mountain with copious amounts of vegetation and tree planting.

Black Mountain is located in the greater Rumford Area and holds a historic value to the local ski community.

At one point Black Mountain was facing trouble surviving, but with help from the Maine Winter Sports Center and the Libra Foundation, the Mountain was given a rebirth, with new trails, parking, chairlifts, and a new base lodge.
