Shaun White has done it again. He really should just legally change his name to: Winner. Last night at the X Games 17 in Los Angeles, CA, White beat out his rival and three-time defending champion, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, in the Skateboard Vert.  Winning last night gives White his fifth X Games medal to add to his total X Games medal collection (both summer and winter) to 21.

White nailed his victory on his final run of the night last night, needing a huge run in order to jump ahead of Gagnon. When it comes to White and competing, he is Michael Jordan. Calm, collected and always making it happen. “His run was amazing,” Gagnon said. “He did everything he wanted to do.”

White did two variations of 540-degree spins and also a 720-degree spin earning him a score of 93.00. Gagnon had one last chance to catch White, however he ended up falling on his final run. Gagnon walked away with the silver medal with a 91.66, and Bucky Lasek took the bronze with an 87.66.
