BOULDER, COLORADO – Movement Skis FlySwatter has been named to FREESKIER Magazine’s prestigious list of 2011-12 Editor’s Picks. The amazingly beautiful fat and agile skis, the FlySwatter from Movement Skis blends the face of freestyle with the soul of big-mountain skiing. Movement’s FlySwatters will will be celebrated along with other top skis for 2011-12 in the October issue of FREESKIER Magazine.
Like all Movement skis, the FlySwatter features high molecular weight bases for speed and performance; extra-thick mounting plates and rubber reinforced edges for extreme durability; exclusive high energy laminates and fibers for customized performance; and unique shock absorption technologies for a smooth and perfect ride, every time.
Available in 185 cm, the FlySwatter is superbly balanced in the air and dependably stable on big landings. On the outside, the FlySwatter (MSRP: $979, MAP $799) is built for big air, big tricks and big landings, with a curvaceous 150-125-145 mm sidecut and a healthy early-rise rocker on both tip and tail. And on the inside, the FlySwatter delivers a level of performance previously reserved for top of the mountain skiers, blending a lively Poplar Light ECL pure wood core with proprietary Movement core technologies.
When it stays close to the ground, the FlySwatter’s massive width and huge tip profile slices through deep snow and difficult conditions with ease. In tighter terrain, the ski’s progressive flex pattern and distinctively short 17m turning radius makes for easy and accurate cuts.
The FlySwatter’s “Early Rise New Generation Camber” was designed specifically to deliver increased power in deeper snow, improved turning on traditional terrain, and enhanced all-mountain versatility. And the FlySwatter’s pure wood core – known as Poplar Light ECL — is certified sustainable by FSC and PEFC organizations.
FREESKIER’s testers named the FlySwatter to the list after gathering for two tests – a “Microbrew” test for rising independent brands held in March in Aspen, and a park & pipe session held in early April in Breckenridge.
Jonathan Degenhardt, Brand Manager for Movement Skis said,
“As a big mountain freeride and freestyle brand, the FREESKIER award is a great honor. Their test results are a direct reflection of how Movement is on the front line of the progressive skiing that’s fueling the sport.”
