The first couple of days of the second stop of The North Face Chilean Freeskiing Championships Subaru Freeski World Tour (FWT) delivered great weather and conditions for the athletes. The concise, technical lines made the world class athletes bring their A Game at The Ski Arpa Cat Skiing in the Chilean Andes. For the third day in a row, clear skies and fresh snow await this international field of the best freeskiers in the world.

Thirty-two athletes including 23 men and 9 women, went for an inspection run before competition. The Ski Arpa Cat Skiing is a remote backcountry operation that offers steep powder cliff drops of the 1,200 vertical foot Cornice venue where man-made kickers off the cornices and offers challenging terrain with the current thin snow pack.

The men’s competitors who advanced to today’s finals which were held on Cornices were: Lars-Chickering Ayers (USA), Adrien Coirier (FRA), Chopo Diaz (CHE) and Guerlain Chicherit (FRA), holding the first, second, third and fourth positions. The final results ended with Lars-Chickering Ayers claiming first with Josh Daiek (USA) and Kevin O’Meara (USA) claiming the second and third places, respectively.

On the women’s side, the one, two, three place standings both going into today and after the final results are with Sole Diaz (CHE), Angel Collinson (USA), and Crystal Wright (USA) repetitively.
