Simon Dumont to Throw First Pitch for the Red Sox

NEWRY, MAINE – Simon Dumont, who holds 8 X games medals as well as the world record for height in the quarter-pipe, will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay game on September 16th.

Although originally not from Boston, Dumont wholeheartedly accepted the honor, stating that he’s “really looking forward to throwing the first pitch at Fenway… Growing up in Maine, I’ve been a New England sports fan since I was born. I’d like to thank Sunday River and the Boston Red Sox for making this possible.” It appears that a mutual sponsor of Dumont and the Sox, Sunday River Resort, will attempt to warmly bridge the mysterious gap between Major League Baseball and Professional Skiing. However, despite Sunday River’s apparent cross-promotional agenda, it appears that Dumont has no reservations about possibly embarrassing himself in front of a sea of diehard Red fans.
