WINTERGREEN, VA – Wintergreen Resort is tuned in to what active women want when planning a getaway. A dynamic women’s wellness retreat, exhilarating autumn spa treatments, and action-packed women’s ski clinics are scheduled at the resort for the next four months.
Wintergreen’s third annual “Inspirations” weekend is designed for women to learn and share and enjoy each other’s company. This retreat will take place Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6. Featured speakers will engage in topics ranging from stress management, healthful eating and gaining clarity in life, to discussion of the challenges and rewards of achieving simplicity. Yoga classes are also available, treatments at the Spa at Wintergreen and culinary treats round out the two-day program. The resort has partnered with the University of Virginia Health System and Afton Mountain Vineyards to make this event happen.
Wintergreen Women’s Ski & Ride Clinics are offered beginning in 2012 on Fridays from mid-January (20 and 27) through mid-February (10 and 17). Geared for women who want to improve their skiing and riding skills, the clinics are taught by Wintergreen’s PSIA/AASI female instructors. Women can enroll for a single session or for the four-part series. The clinics are from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with lunch and instruction included. A one-day clinic costs $109; the four clinic series is $400. Lift ticket and rental equipment are not included.
Women’s Ski Weekend takes place February 4-5, 2012 when Wintergreen Resort and Alison Gannett team up to offer “KEEN Rippin Chix” ski camp for all levels of women’s snow sports enthusiasts. The program includes two full days of instruction and video analysis that features Gannett’s famous steep skills toolbox instruction. Also included is Gannett’s sustainability trivia contest during Saturday’s post-event happy hour where huge prizes are awarded. Become further c with green and sustainability initiatives supported by Gannett and her sponsors, including KEEN, Patagonia, NEMO, Elemental Herbs and Osprey.
Instruction will focus on all levels of skiing, in a non-traditional teaching format, with several group levels covering the gamut from green runs to mastering the steeps. The Camp price is $350 with space being limited. Discounted lift tickets and lodging are available to those who purchase packages.
The Spa at Wintergreen promises to rejuvenate and reenergize with soothing treatments throughout the fall and winter months. Among the spa temptations are an 80-minute massage that also includes a Fundamental Facial or Express Manicure/Pedicure for an additional $49. Wrap up the fall season with a Harvest Wrap, a fresh detoxifying wrap that warms body and soul, with a massage for $129. The Spa offers a 50-minute Deep Cleansing Facial with Clarisonic for $89 or a 50-minute Lemongrass Signature Manicure and Pedicure for $70. Purchase a gift card valued at $200 and receive a complimentary $15 voucher to spend in the Spa Boutique on the same day.
