Snowboard enthusiasts around the world need to mark their calendars for December 18th, otherwise they may risk missing the happiest day of the year — WORLD SNOWBOARD DAY!

In 2010, World Snowboard Day counted 160 events in 38 countries with more than 25 000 participants. This year’s 6th edition promises more events and looks to be celebrated in more countries than ever before.

For 2011, there are several programs being offered such as: free lessons for newcomers, contests, demos, equipment tests, parties, and even some fresh new music. All across the globe, multiple federations, ski areas, clubs, shops, pro riders, associations and brands have pledged their participation and look forward to sharing their passion with veteran and new riders alike.

Created in 2006 by EuroSIMA and the WSF, this event was conceived by snowboarders for snowboarders. Since 2010 the Outdoor Sports Valley association (OSV) has become an event partner, with SnowSports Industries America (SIA) in North America and CorePower Asia in Asia as regional partners. All of these partnerships provide increased visibility and a broader worldwide presence for World Snowboard Day.
