Boulder, CO- Spyder’s world-class team of athletes will no longer have to starve, shiver or suffer the boredom caused by waiting to compete thanks to the unveiling of the Spyder Athlete Support Vehicle -a massive team and event support vehicle that will act as a home away from home for their key athletes, primary marketing partners and U.S. Ski Team. Part RV, part mobile gym, the clean-burning diesel powered SASV comfortably sleeps 8 people and features a full kitchen to accommodate the nutritional needs of athletes while on the road, two spin bikes for training and staying warm during comps, multiple video screens for reviewing past races & runs or enjoying the built-in satellite TV and a rooftop deck for relaxing and watching events.
“The only thing worse than standing around at on-snow events in the cold is if you’re a competitor waiting around forever to drop in or take to the course. A while back we had an idea on how we can better support our athletes, our primary sponsors, the US Ski Team and our consumers. The athletes need warmth, nutrition, rest and being able to get away from all the craziness that happens when its game time. We found it, and honestly, this thing is over the top with all the convenience of being at home right down to the satellite TVs,” said Russ Rowan, vice president of sales and global marketing at Spyder.
The Spyder Athlete Support Vehicle (SASV) is a converted Four Winds Fun Mover clad in 3MTM graphic material that prominently displays Spyder imagery and co-sponsor logos. The 44′ long rig is just one foot shy of needing a semi truck license to operate and packed full of the creature comforts of home while also creating a visual brand statement to consumers at events and race stops around the nation. Keeping their crew comfortable, conditioned and connected to their fans is crucial for success.
The Spyder Athlete Support Vehicle is co-sponsored by 3MTM and Audi USA.
