WANAKA, NZ – As we here in the northern hemisphere gear up for another exciting season, we should remember that our southern hemisphere counter-parts are just winding down their spring ski season. Over at Treble Cone, New Zealand, depite being in their winter season’s twilight, our Kiwi-cousins have been blessed with some awesome snow conditions right up until Closing Day!
Last weekend Treble Cone welcomed 80 shed-tastic children to compete in the annual Pump Mini Mountain event. Head judge Tori Beattie, who was fresh from recently judging the NZ Open Big Mountain event was beyond impressed at this group of 5-13 year old’s overall riding level and creative ability on both skis and boards. In Beattie’s opinion, “the future of free skiing in NZ is looking pretty bright!”

Closing day at TC is not a depressing affair by any means! Resort goers are encouraged to wear their best and brightest snow gear and costume-up for their final opportunity to be a spectacle on the slopes. The final run at Treble Cone will be on Sunday October 2nd, which includes The Slush Cup competition, and Wanaka Beats pumping out the tune on the main lodge deck.
A good time has been officially guranteed!
