MARINA DEL REY, CA - Red Bull athletes are known around the world for their unparalleled mastery of sport, jaw-dropping maneuvers and shock inducing attempts. It should be no surprise then that the more than 200 athletes across five different sports categories- action, adventure, aerial, athletic and motorsports- are periodically in need of medical attention. In a move that will bring an unprecedented level of medical care to its world-class athletes, Red Bull North America, Inc.has formed a partnership with DISC Sports & Spine Center (DISC). The landmark agreement makes DISC the official medical services provider for Red Bull’s athlete performance programs throughout the United States.
“It’s an exciting development for our program that we have access to world class resources in an area that is so important to their long-term success. The DISC medical group has already demonstrated their capabilities at the highest level in delivering urgently needed treatment to several of our athletes who were facing potentially career-ending injuries. These athletes went from looking at long-term limited performance to now being back at the top of their game. It’s a huge advantage to be able to provide this as part of our portfolio of athlete performance services,” said Red Bull Director of High Performance Andy Walshe.
Today’s news marks a first-of-its-kind partnership for Red Bull, a company that has transcended the traditional role of sports sponsor to pioneer complete athlete performance programs. By adding DISC to its team of resources, Red Bull makes another important investment in promoting the strength and well-being of its athletes. To the mutual benefit of both parties the agreement builds on DISC’s momentum as it seeks to redefine sports medicine and the level of service available to athletes.
