Huntington Beach, CA – Bungee jumping, tequila shots, the beach, Red Bull flowing like wine and some of the sickest snowboarding maneuvers caught on tape. If you are wondering where you can find all of these activities in one place? The answer: Huntington Beach for the World Premier of Forum Snowboards new video “Vacation.” Set against the crashing waves of the Pacific, “Vacation” premiered to a packed house under the stars. A mix of comedy, big air tricks and extensive good times, the “most beautiful team of riders” put on an extraordinary show for the adoring crowd.
Not in the SoCal area? No worries, this girl caught all the action for you. The film kicks off with a cameo by rapper Ice-T, which sets the tone for the entire film. The video showcased world class riders attempting the most outrageous tricks set to a personal soundtrack. Each rider was featured in a comical vignette showcasing each of their unique personalities. Forum rider Stevie Bell rode to N.W.A’s “Express Yourself” while Andreas Wiig threw big air to David Bowie’s “Modern Love.” Other riders included Pat Moore, Jake Welch, Nic Sauvé, and The Youngbloods: Daniel Ek, Cameron Pierce, Niko Cioffi, Austen Sweetin, and Alek Oestreng with special guest appearances by John Jackson and Peter Line.
Not only did the crowd have the pleasure of being in attendance for the world premier, but the entire Forum team was present for a “meet and greet” as well as an autograph signing. Freebies? Of course, members of the team threw out t-shirts, gloves, bottle openers and other Forum gear. When asked about the experience of making this video, many of the athletes were either speechless or simply replied “F@#ing Stoked.”
With a tough week of work and school only half over, this hump-day premier gave the crowd a much needed “Vacation” from the daily rat race. As the credits rolled and the cheering turned to a low roar, the riders gathered to invite the entire crowd to the after party. So just for tonight, maybe a couple Tequila shots wouldn’t hurt!
If “Vacation” is any indication of the premiers to come this season, I am stoked to see what the Ski Channel has in store with their release of “Winter!”
