Colorado Springs, CO - This weekend is the Fifth Annual “Fall Classic” Mountainboarding event in Colorado Springs, home to the world headquarters of MBS Mountainboards. Judging by the caliber of riders attending this event, it’s clear that things are going to go down hill fast — and thats how we like it!

Top Riders from around the world will be looking to win in their respective categories of Boardercross, Freestyle or Freedride and to take home the “King of the Mountain” crown by being the best in all three disciplines. Expect to see top pros like Cole Shipp from Colorado go up against Nicky Geerse from Holland and Dylan Warren from Australia. Although the pros will most likely dominate the main competitions, the Fall Classic is still open for all ages and abilities to compete.

Its going to be a high intensity weekend. The competition kicks off Saturday morning with the Boardercross races which take place at Pikes Peak BMX Race Facility, where riders compete head to head in a double elimination style race. The rider who can best navigate the challenging course of dirt rollers, jumps and tightly bermed curves while beating their opponent will take home this coveted title of Boardercross Champ.

After the Boardercross, the riders go immediately into the Freestyle competition located at the MBS “Backyard” dirt terrain park. There, is located a 35′ start hill, and two 20′ table top jumps alongside rails and box features. This will be the last event of the day so the riders have no excuse but to go large, and throw their sickest tricks, to please the crowd and snatch victory for themselves. Saturday will culminate with the Freestyle Box Jam and Live DJ music on-site. Then all the riders and fans can head home for the night, dress their scrapes and bruises, and prepare themselves for Sunday, when the mother of all mountainboarding events, the FREERIDE CHALLENGE, will go down!

The FREERIDE CHALLENGE is new this year but it promises to hold some of the best riding of the entire event. This will take place in the woods near Rampart Range Road, 30 min north of Colorado Springs. Riders will compete in runs that contain several large rock features and small cliff drops performing their freshest tricks while trying to keep a smooth line. The smoothest rider of this event will be given the “Velvet Elvis” award.

Lets hope for a BUMPY weekend down in Colorado Springs, and Good Luck to all the riders!
