Stamp collectors everywhere should take notice now that stamp production has reached new heights with two freshly released series: “XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Tourism on the Black Sea Coast of Russia” and “XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Olympic Winter Sports”. These are not your ordinary stamps as they are the most multilingual in Olympic Winter Games, provided in 6 languages including Russian, English, French, German, Spanish and Chinese.
The “XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Tourism on the Black Sea Coast of Russia” stamp series features Sochi places of interest: Krasnaya Polyana, the Harbor Station, the Watchtower on the Bolshoi Akhun mountain and the Volkonsky Quoit at the Sochi National Park. Circulation of the series will consist of 4 stamps and 4 coupons with 320,000 lists in Russian, 150,000 lists in English, 130,000 lists in Chinese, and 120,000 lists each in other languages.
The second series is the “XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. Olympic Winter Sports” sheet and includes three stamps: “Cross Country Skiing”, “Ski Jumping” and “Short Track”. These creative new stamps portray free style skiers, a jumping skier, and two ice skaters. In this series, the sheets have designed margins with 8 stamps and 1 coupon.
