Wold Creek Ski Area lives up to its reputation as “The Most Snow in Colorado”, by opening up their slopes for the start of the 2011-2012 ski and snowboard season! The fun starts this weekend, October 8th and 9th, and can be attributed to the thirty-six inches of fresh snow that dropped earlier this week. This is the earliest opening for Wolf Creek, which smashes the previous record of October 27, from back in 2006.
Riders can enjoy the 1,600 acre ski area, and can expect Treasure, Bonanza, and Nova Chairlifts to opening at 9am and run until 4pm. While the slopes are reported to have a base of 27 inces and about 30 inches at the summit, it is still considered early season conditions so ski with care!
Wolf Creek will be offering local appreciation rates of $33.00 for all adults, and $19.00 for seniors and children under 12. The ski school will also be open, and is set to offer both group and private lessons for adults, and the Wolf Pup Program will be taking children ages 5 through 8.
If you need to rent or pick up some new gear, the rental station and Treasure Sports shop will be open for business as well.
So get out and start enjoying what could potentially be the longest, powder-packed season of all time!
