Park City Mountain Resort has been named the 2012 “#1 Family Vacation” ski resort by SKI Magazine. Located just 35 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah the resort has put a lot of effort into becoming one of the ski industry’s top family programs.

Jenni Smith, president and general manager of Park City said, “We are honored to receive such a prestigious award as we focus on creating an incredible mountain experience for all of our guests, including families. Over the years we have directed substantial resources to enhancing the family experience for our guests. We have been devoted to finding ways to allow more of our guests to explore the 3,300 acres of terrain our mountain has to offer, in addition to providing more family-friendly activities off the slopes.”

The “#1 Family Vacation” award is part of SKI Magazine’s “Lifestyle” winners added last year as a part of its “Top 60 Resort Awards”.Park City was also ranked the #6 resort in North America by SKI magazine readers. The accolades don’t end there for this family hotspot as Park City Mountain Resort has a wide range of other top rankings such as Access (#3), Family Programs (#3), Terrain Parks (#4), Off-Hill Activities (#4), Apres Ski (#4), Digital Presence (#6), Lodging (#6), Dining (#7), Weather (#8), Grooming (#9) and On-Mountain Food (#10).

Fun childhood memories are a top priority and family friendly is an understatement for this top-ranked resort. Park City launched a few years ago to make it easier for families to plan winter vacations by finding advice straight from experienced parents. The Resort’s Kids Signature 5 Program was also the very first in North America to promise a maximum class size of 5 children or less every single day of the season for skiers and snowboarders aged 6 to 14. Additionally, the resort offers family winter adventures such as Adventure Alleys, Alpine Coaster and the new Flying Eagle Zip Line.

The resort even offers an interactive tool for guests called the My Mountain Planner. Guests can select their favorite terrain and features to create personalized downloadable mountain tours. More info can be found at
