While many of us are stoked that the snow has begun to fall across our favorite winter destinations, sometimes it can put a damper on some of the pre-planned fall events. That seems to be the case for Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, in Snowbird Utah, which announced today that because of more than a foot of snow accumulating at the top of Peruvian Express Chairlift, chairlift rides during the first two weekends of its annual Customer Appreciation Days will not be offered.
However, guests are still welcome to come to the resort, and in exchange for donation of a can of food, hygiene item or $3 donation to Wasatch Adaptive Sports, Snowbird will be offering free Ropes Course, Bungy Trampoline and Kids’ Inflatable activities from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Oct. 15, 16, 22 or 23. Guests will also have the option to receive a free Aerial Tram foot passenger ticket redeemable Oct. 29, 30 or Nov. 5, 6 (weather permitting).
To take advantage of the offer, guests may bring either a can of food, a hygiene item or $3, to Snowbird on any Saturday or Sunday from Oct. 15 through Nov. 6 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Requested hygiene items are toothpaste, soap, baby diapers and wipes. Preferred canned food items are peanut butter, tuna, chili, soup/stew, vegetables, fruit, beans and spaghetti sauce. Acceptable boxed foods are rice, macaroni and cheese, boxed dinners, cake mix and pasta. Special-needs foods, such as low-sugar and low-sodium goods, are also appreciated.
