Since 1995, Line Skis has been at the forefront of fun in the skiing industry, and Eric Pollard has been an integral part of the Line family for well over a decade. The professional freeskier and backcountry pioneer is credited as one of the driving forces for the company’s illustrious reputation for providing skiers with innovative products and cutting edge designs. Line Skis has just announced that Pollard has signed a deal to continue his role with company for the next four years!

Thanks to Pollard’s talents as an athlete, product designer, and graphic artist, this partnership will continue delivering breakthrough products powered by a snow sports philosophy based upon evolution and integrity. While one could say it is a mere formality, the ink on this deal is a symbolic continuation of Eric Pollard and Line Skis devotion to pushing the boundaries of skiing.

Line Skis founder and Brand Director Jason Levinthal said it best, “I don’t think there’s ever been a quicker four-year contract negotiation, if you want to call it that. For the past 14 years Eric’s creative vision, progressive skiing, fun personality, and incredible work ethic been identical to Line’s, influencing our brand, and literally every product we build. I and everyone at Line couldn’t be more stoked. We’re just getting started.

Pollard and the Nimbus Independent crew are known for their dedication to seeking untracked powder and premiering un-fathomable mountain features to audiences around the world. Eric is not only a gifted skiier but he is an amazing artist. His mark can be seen in his yearly signature ski series, which not only feature his gorgeous graphics, but are engineered from the ground up with Pollard’s progressive riding style in mind.

Pollard explains the significance of the close-knit relationship he has enjoyed, “Working with Line over the past decade-plus has been a pleasure, and I look forward to the next four years. The license Line has granted me to create radical ski shapes is unparalleled in skiing.”

The Mr. Pollard’s Opus and Sir Francis Bacon ski collections have seen a complete redesign for the 2012 season, and feature a narrower profile, stiffer core, Early Rise® and Early Taper® in the tip and tail which work together to produce an unparalleled skiing experience.

These skis are geared towards those who seek to emulate Pollard’s freestyle powder riding in the backcountry, as well as those interested in a simple fun-filled day at their local resort. Regardless of your preferred style, and terrain — these skis will allow you to effortlessly flow though powder and are guaranteed to progress your riding to the next level.

“Anyone can make a really fat ski float in powder, but making it also versatile enough to rip firm snow is where they all fall short.” – Eric Pollard

So far, this has been an exciting year for Eric and the Nimbus family. Aside from the deal with Line, Eric and his wife, pro-snowboarder and fellow-collaborator Erin Pollard recently welcomed their first child, Isabella Pollard to the world earlier this Fall! Not to mention, the annual film offering from Nimbus Independent launched earlier this in September with the Sammy Carlson-fueled feature, On Top of the Hood, followed by En Route: Alaskathe first of four monthly webisodes. The next film is set to drop on November 7th, and as with all Nimbus Independent film offerings, they are provided to audiences for a saint-like price of FREE!

All in the name of sharing Eric, Line Skis and the Nimbus Independent Family’s love for the sport of skiing!

It’s going to be a great 2011-2012 winter season!
