With one of the most powerful snowmaking systems in Eastern Canada, Tremblant offers something new this winter: snowmaking at the bottom of the Algonquin trail that provides access to the Versant Soleil and Casino de Mont-Tremblant. The first phase, completed during the summer on this beginner run, will increase snow coverage at the bottom of the trail; the section is more exposed to wind and the snowmaking equipment will increase the number of days that this trail can be enjoyed. Furthermore Tremblant has replaced one of its snow grooming machines with a Prinoth Sherpa 350. It will permit easier and smoother manipulation of the snow where the terrain is rough, steep and less accessible. The new acquisition will optimize ski conditions on groomed trails.
Not only will the trails be groomed to perfection, but Tremblant has also kept their snow-making teams busy this summer. Last year Tremblant embarked on a pilot project to test five high-performance snow blowers. The results were conclusive and resulted in the acquisition of equipment this summer. The fans are equipped with separate and specific weather stations and are networked in order to remotely program the snow quality parameters and the orientation. Once conditions are met, the fans will start up and automatically proceed to the best adjustment. Work has also been undertaken to optimize the water and air distribution on the mountain and refurbish several motors and pumps. The most noticeable improvement for skiers is the addition of an air duct on top of the Sissy Schuss run and at the bottom of Fuddle Duddle. Waiting for cold weather to make snow in these areas is no longer required. The actions are part of a long-term plan to efficiently deliver as much skiable terrain as quickly as possible and counter the whims of Mother Nature.
Another interesting addition is the new fleet of high performance skis offered in the rental shops of Tremblant, for a greater choice of products. Tremblant is proud to be the Ski Resort with the largest inventory of high performance skis for rental in Eastern North America. Once you have picked up your new high performance skis make you way to the Tremblant Snow School for their new exciting offers.
Tremblant Snow School offers two exciting new products for parents and families, starting this winter. First, the introduction of the Mother Nature Camp that combines a half day of skiing and a half day of daycare for children ages 3 and 4. This program will allow parents to make the most of their day on the slopes. In addition, the little ones can now take a private lesson with an instructor along with their parents. The idea behind the initiative is to offer parents the information and advice they need to ski with their children and enjoy the sport as a family.
Finally, at the beginning of the season, the pedestrian village of Tremblant will have a new shop on rue des Remparts: the Oakley store. As well as their famous eyewear, which is recognized worldwide for quality and durability, clothes and accessories from Oakley will also be available.
All these investments add up to another exciting winter at Tremblant. The season starts November 24th!
