Deer Valley Resort Announces Personnel Changes

Deer Valley Resort has won countless awards, accolades and fans for the fresh, inspired mountain fare at its ten on-mountain restaurants and the nearby Deer Valley Grocery~Café. One of the reasons for such culinary success is the dedication of a long-time food and beverage team, with many members having worked together at Deer Valley for decades.

One of the longest-employed stars of the team, Kris Anderson, is retiring after 28 years of dedicated service to Deer Valley Resort. Anderson was the Snow Park Lodge Manager, known to many, many guests and fellow employees for her positive vibes and smile. She will be sorely missed by Deer Valley staff and guests, but the resort wishes her the best as she starts her retirement in October. Anderson plans to split her time between Park City and Montana.

The Food and Beverage Team is also pleased to announce the promotion of longtime employee Clint Strohl to Deer Valley Resort Restaurant Operations Manager. He will be responsible for all front-of-house restaurant services at the Snow Park, Silver Lake and Empire Canyon Lodges, including The Mariposa, Royal Street Café, Seafood Buffet, Fireside Dining, the Empire Canyon Grill, Snow Park and Silver Lake Restaurants, Bald Mountain Pizza in Silver Lake Lodge, Snowshoe Tommy’s and Cushings Cabin.

“Clint was chosen for this promotion because he’s the most qualified,” says Julie Wilson, resort food and beverage director. “He’s worked at the resort since 1984, knows our restaurants inside and out, and has been part of the team that’s brought Deer Valley so many accolades and awards for service and cuisine from SKI Magazine, Zagat Restaurant Guide, Salt Lake Dining Awards and more. Clint has been buying wine for our restaurants since he arrived. The Mariposa has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence many times due to Clint’s talent in designing a creative wine list.”

“Deer Valley and Julie Wilson have been outstanding-beyond-belief employers for so many years,” says Strohl of his new position. “I was flattered when they asked for my assistance. I’m deeply committed to excellence in Deer Valley’s restaurants and I am thrilled about my new responsibilities.”

Deer Valley’s ten on-mountain restaurants will open for the winter 2011/2012 season on the resort opening day, December 3, 2011. The Deer Valley Grocery~Café is open daily throughout the year.
