West Virginia’s Snowshoe Mountain resort will opening the 2011-2012 winter season on November 23rd with an intense number of upgrades, new products, ridiculously sweet promotions and adventure opportunities. The resort is so eager to spread its mountain adventure goods that snowmaking is scheduled for October 27th!

Snowshoe is offering a new pricing structure this season with mid-week discounts, higher discounts for pre-booked tickets purchased with lodging, and daily tickets starting as low as $37. Not only are there great saving opportunities but also Snowshoe’s freedom packaging lets you pick and choose what lift ticket days you want to suit your vacation style (non-skiing friends and shopping only days are now welcome!).

The 11,000-acre resort has added three new restaurants to its mountaintop. Sunset Cantinaoffers Southwestern cuisine, The South Mountain Grille pleases American tastes, and The Stash sushi and sake bar is guaranteed to satisfy.

Additionally, shuttle service will operate regularly to and from the Inn at the mountain’s base. A new store, Columbia, will cover all outwear and regular clothing wants and needs. There’s even a new terrain park to hit up with Mountaineer Parks covering 27 acres with a Progression Session Park (replacing Skidway Slope).

Snowshoe’s 1,500 feet of vertical drop will be well taken care of by the new Winch Cat Groomer, which can even groom the likes of Shay’s Revenge, Upper Ballhooter, and Spruce Glades to perfection. You can view incredible HD video at snowshoemtn.com brought to you by new HD equipment so even before you touch the smooth slopes, you can gaze at their HD beauty. The website also has a new online booking engine to let you select accommodations, lift tickets, rentals, and more with efficient ease.

New adventures are ready to be enjoyed including hunting the Snowshoe Sasquatch, learning about snowmaking, and experiencing backcountry sledding. Kids can jump into the new Kids Ski/Ride and Play Program with 4 to 6 year olds participating in private lessons or snowboarding in the Lion Club’s group lessons. Lessons will even be offered every Friday to introduce all skiers and riders to freestyle, with no experience necessary.

Snowshoe is better than ever as well as more affordable. More early season promos include 20% off winter lodging and equipment rentals for any ski/stay plan (if booked by October 31), $249 season pass special for all enrolled full time college students (available Oct 1-31), a free season pass with any 4+ day/night ski and stay plan booked by November 15, and Kids Ski Free on any 4+ day/night ski and stay plan from Opening Day (November 23rd) until December 25th.
