Posted By: The Ski Channel on October 28, 2011 8:42 pm

Keeping with tradition, Boreal will once again open for skiing and riding in the month of October. Skiers and snowboarders will get a sneak peak of the mountain, as well as get to participate in the 7th Annual Jibassic Public Invitational

Boreal will spin one lift and provide one run with park features tomorrow, Friday, October 28, 2011 and Saturday, October 29, 2011.

Once again, this will make Boreal the first resort to open in California, proving a continued commitment to early season snowmaking and operations.

Boreal will operate the Nugget chair lift granting access to one run featuring a terrain park with four to five terrain park features and will offer $15 lift tickets for all ages.

Resort services will be available including season pass sales, food, beverages, and retail.  Gated access to the mountain, valid lift tickets and passes permitted in the gated area only.  Lift tickets subject to sell out.  All 2011/12 Boreal season passes are valid October 28th and 29th and will be available for purchase onsite at a discounted rate.  Due to limited terrain, no beginner terrain or ski school will be available this weekend.

To celebrate the beginning of the season, the 7th Annual Jibassic Public Invitational (JPI.7), Boreal’s pre-season jib contest, will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 10am – 12pm.  JPI.7 is open to the public.  $1,000 cash will be handed out in the public park, open to all and built to Boreal terrain park perfection.
