Scott Clarkson has just been announced as the new Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR). Clarkson is bringing in over 25 years of ski industry marketing experience, including 15 years at Vermont’s Okemo Mountain Resort.
“Scott’s expertise, personality, and general approach are going to be a great fit for the marketing and sales team and the company as a whole. He values what we believe in as a resort and has a vision for moving Crested Butte forward in the marketplace,” states Ethan Mueller, Vice President and General Manager for CBMR.
Clarkson was recently hired to manage FestEVOL, a concert and lifestyle series for Triple Peaks Resorts. Before FestEVOL, Clarkson was the Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Lake Tahoe’s Squaw Valley USA. He has been deeply involved in the industry with such management positions as the Executive Secretary for the New England Ski Areas Council (NESAC), an important member of the marketing committee for the National Ski Areas Association and the Vermont Ski Areas Association, as well as the Board of Directors for West River Sports Association. Clarkson will get started at CBMR on November 17, while still maintaining involvement with FestEVOL.
Clarkson added, “I am very excited to be joining the Crested Butte team. I’ve been interested in becoming a part of this destination community since the Mueller family first became involved. I have vacationed at Crested Butte each year since 2005. This is a very special and beautiful place with unique, year-round attributes that I look forward to promoting nationally and internationally.”
