Big Bear Mountain Resorts, the premier Southern California ski and snowboard destination, solidifies its future as the region’s most progressive slopes, now with Chris Riddle transitioning into the position of Vice President of Marketing. Big Bear Mountain Resorts — which includes Bear Mountain and Snow Summit — also announces Rio Tanbara as the new Director of Marketing for Bear Mountain, and Clayton Shoemaker as the Director of Youth Marketing and Park Development for Big Bear Mountain Resorts.
These three industry innovators are taking Big Bear Mountain Resorts to new heights this 2011-2012 season, offering new and exciting opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all riding levels. For example, Clayton and Rio are known as the “mad men” behind various BBMR’s epic events, such as Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails, The Grenade Games, Ultimate Boarder, and Transworld’s Trans AM.
“Having called Big Bear Mountain Resorts my home mountain for over 20 years, I am excited to play a larger role this season in making Bear Mountain the ultimate ski and snowboard scene of Southern California,” says Rio Tanbara. “Our events at the mountain this season are going to be amazing. We are collaborating with some of the industry’s top brands and riders to give our guests a truly unique and interactive experience.”
With over 14 years of experience working at all levels of park development, Clayton Shoemaker’s passion and foresight for terrain parks has allowed Bear Mountain to truly become “The People’s Park.”
“Progression and safety are key,” explains Shoemaker. “At Bear Mountain and Snow Summit we aim to provide terrain features for all ability levels. With our new interactive Skill Builder Park and exclusive Pro Zones and Red Bull Plaza at Bear Mountain, we are helping riders become educated, inspired and progress within the park scene.”
