If you are looking to gain access to live coverage of the 2012 U.S. Alpine Ski Team announcement today, then you need to check out Universal Sports Network. UniversalSports.com will be streaming the event live from Vail with coverage starting at 6:30 p.m. ET. World Championship medalist and Universal Sports ski analyst Doug Lewis will host the event, and country’s top alpine ski champions will be in attendence as well. Look forward to seeing Olympic gold medalists Lindsey Vonn, Julia Mancuso, Ted Ligety and Bode Miller.
The U.S. Ski Team will be facing off against extremely well-matched international competition throughout the upcoming winter ski season. So far the team has had a brilliant showing at the Audi FIS World Cup season opener in Soelden late last month, resulting in a clean sweep for the team. Lindsey Vonn’s historic victory made her the fifth woman in the world to win all five disciplines in the event’s history and tied her with Swede Anja Paerson at fourth in the all time World Cup wins. Ted Ligety demonstrated the value of finishing strong in his race which allowed him to maintain his tight grip on his GS Championship title. The Universal Sports Network will continue its extensive, multiplatform coverage of the 2011-2012 International Ski Federation (FIS) Alpine Ski World Cup throughout the season.
We reported earlier this week that the upcoming stops in Levi, Finland (Nov. 12-13) had been canceled. The International Ski Federation or FIS just announced this morning that the Levi, Finland leg of the competition will now take place in Flachau, Austria and will instead be held on December 20th – 21st.
