Louie Vito is known for his dominance in the halfpipe, and his ability to land extremely difficult tricks when it counts most. His prowess in the pipe has earned him a pair of wings from energy drink powerhouse, Red Bull. The 23 year old pro rider was signed last week, arguably filling the gap left by Shaun White following his departure from the company earlier this year. Vito also parted ways with long-time sponsor Monster Energy Drinks recently and making for an ideal transition point.
Taking advantage of the of the Red Bull empire and the vast amount of resources the energy-drink company provides, Vito has changed the way he eats and trains by working with the very best experts in the world. Even ESPN took notice when Vito was named one of the elite athlete’s with a “Body We Want” in the coveted ESPN Body Issue. While Vito’s new training regiment has turned industry heads, his involvement with the Red Bull team remains focused on both progression and winning.
In an interview with ESPN, when asked “Why Red Bull?” He simply replied “If you look at their athletes across the board, they have great teams in every sport – basketball and even football and NASCAR — and that says a lot,” explains Vito to ESPN. “And they really support their athletes and want to get involved and they expect a lot…If I say, I want to go to the Olympics and win; they will help me reach my goals.”
Reminding fans once again why Red Bull has become the dominate powerhouse of the action sports arena, Vito exemplifies the standards of the Red Bull nation and will only make another stellar addition to the boarding team.
