Snowbird Resort in Utah has collected thousands of cans of food and many hygiene items for the Utah Food Bank during the resort’s annual Customer Appreciation Days. The donation will be presented to the Utah Food Bank on Nov. 9 at 10a.m. Snowbird has also raised a financial contribution to Wasatch Adaptive Sports, a non-profit educational foundation providing outdoor recreational activites for children and adults with special needs.
Guests of the event were asked to donate one can of food in exchange for one free Tram ride, or to make a $3 donation to Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The food collected at Snowbird and community members alike will add to the 33.3 million pounds of food already distributed by the Utah Food Bank and will help some of the 10 percent of Utahns who live in poverty.
“November is a critical time for the emergency food network and we are in great need for donations,” said Ginette Bott, Utah Food Bank Chief Marketing Officer. “We are very appreciative for the on-going generosity of Snowbird and community members alike who give their support of food, cash and volunteer time.”
