Happy Veterans Day!! We at The Ski Channel would like to say a special thank you to all military veterans, past and present, who have committed themselves to preserving our freedoms and to their families who unconditionally stand behind them.
In celebration of today’s national holiday, there are a number of great offers honoring veterans and we were psyched to learn that those seeking a little outdoor mountain fun are in luck!
Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana is offering skiers and snowboarders who are active-duty, retired, National Guard, and Reserve US military personnel and their families 50 percent off lift tickets, lodging, equipment rentals and lessons.
“This is just a small token of our appreciation to our troops and veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country,” Whitefish Mountain Resort President Dan Graves said. “We hope these families can spend quality time together enjoying the great outdoors and create memories for years to come.”
Discounts include 50 percent off 2011-2012 lift tickets, winter equipment rentals and ski and snowboard lessons. Additionally veterans and their family members will receive 50 percent off lodging at the Hibernation House or 25 percent off other Whitefish Mountain Resort lodging properties. These discounts are valid for active duty and retired armed forces men and women and their spouses and dependents.
As a reminder, a valid US Military ID Card is required to receive discounts and must be presented at the time of purchase, and the ID holder must be present. Lodging reservations can be made by phone by asking for the discount; the military ID will be required for check-in.
